Azteca Boxing Club holds fundraiser for trainer who got in motorcycle accident

The local organization held a barbecue to raise money to help pay for the trainer's medical bills - 13 On Your Side's Luis Lopez reports

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Azteca Boxing Club held a fundraiser for one of their own Friday night.

Manuel Casas is a coach for the club, but was recently involved in a motorcycle accident.

To help out with his medical bills, the other leaders in the club organized a barbecue to get money for Casas.

One co-owner, Jeffery Mendez, was thrilled to see such a good turnout at the club.

“That’s amazing man, you know the love of the community man, pretty much when we opened as well, the whole community backs us up right here. Me not being born and raised here, it’s great but um I mean being from this town it shows this community comes together when you need it.”

The club tells us if you’d like to help out, you can make a donation for Manuel at the goodfella’s barber shop on 24th street in Yuma.
