$10K reward offered in cases involving several Yuma arsons

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma Police Department (YPD) says a reward of $10,000 is being offered by the Yuma Southwest Contractors Association following several fires that burned down buildings under construction.

Several arson cases occurred in 2021 and 2022, with the first fire on April 7, 2021, destroying three apartments under construction on 21st Avenue.

A second case on June 9 destroyed three more buildings on 32nd Lane and a third case destroyed a buildings frame on 2nd Avenue on June 18.

The fourth fire was on October 16, destroying an entire building on S. Avenue 8E.

YPD says it investigated a fire on June 12 that occurred on South Orion Avenue and three buildings were affected.

The Yuma Southwest Contractors Association is offering a $10,000 reward and 78-CRIME offers up to a $1,000 reward to any information that leads to an arrest in these cases.
