Massive wildfire threatening Yosemite’s sequoia trees

(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - Firefighters are battling a blaze that is threatening Yosemite's famed grove of sequoia trees in northern California.

The wildfire has spread to over 2,000 acres overnight and is fueled by timber and brush.

Hundreds of the giant sequoia trees are in harms way, including some that are centuries old.

Firefighters are expected to face difficult weather this week with warmer and drier weather approaching, meaning the flames could spread quicker.
