FDA authorizes emergency use of Paxlovid for patients

(KYMA, KECY/CNN) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDC) says COVID patients may have an easier time receiving treatment after an emergency use authorization for Paxlovid.

Pharmacies may now be authorized to use the drug but it must be taken within five days of symptoms.

Patients must also show a positive test result and have also been tested for proper kidney and liver function.
