US troops testing new remote-controlled weapons

(KYMA, KECY/CBS) - New remote-controlled weapons are being tested by US troops to protect allies.
The weapons are robotic, such as a reconnaissance combat vehicle.
"We can get better situational awareness on the ground, before I commit my soldiers to the fight," says Sgt. First Class Joshua De Palma of the US Army.
CBS says US troops aren't fighting in the Russia/ Ukraine War but the weapons are being tested just in case Russia fights against a NATO ally.
"Instead of sacrificing all four of my men initially, or six of my men out there, I can send this upfront first, do the probing, get the positive identification at other tanks," continued Sgt. De Palma.
