National Yo-Yo Day

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV/CNN ) - It's a simple toy, but a lot of fun.

Of course, we are talking about yo-yo's and if you have one time to break it out.

That's because today is National Yo-Yo Day.

It is believed the toy was first invented in ancient Greece.

The yo-yo started to become popular in the U.S. after Pedro Flores, who immigrated from the Philippines, started his own company in the early 1900s.

Donald F. Duncan senior further popularized the toy after buying Flores Company.

You can celebrate National Yo-Yo Day by practicing some of the more popular tricks including the sleeper, walk the dog, shooting the moon, around the world, and hop the fence.
