Car crash on busy roadway brings traffic to a halt on 24th Street, 8th Avenue

The crash happened just after 10 a.m. at the intersection of 24th Street & 8th Avenue

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Investigators are looking into a crash that happened just after 10 a.m. Friday morning. The incident happened at the intersection of 24th Street and 8th Avenue.

Crews on the scene described seeing a full-size truck on the sidewalk on the southwest corner of the intersection. Just east of the intersection was a small sedan with heavy damage to its right side and windshield.

Witnesses also observed a mattress in the intersection. It's unknown if the mattress played any part in the accident but investigators are looking into which driver was at fault.

Although, paramedics were rendering aid to one of the parties involved, it's unknown at this time if someone was transported to the hospital.
