2-vehicle crash on County 17, Somerton Avenue

SOMERTON, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Somerton Cocopah Fire Department (SCFD) responded to a two-vehicle crash on County 17 and Somerton Avenue.

The crash happened on Sunday, April 24 and SCFD arrived around 10:37 p.m.

Upon arrival, SCFD says they located a Ford Mustang and a Toyota Camry with severe damage.

The Camry had a 51-year-old female driver and an 8-year-old passenger, both were taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) for possible internal injuries.

There was a single occupant of the Mustang who was a male driver and he refused transport to YRMC but was checked on scene by paramedics.

The Somerton Police Department is continuing its investigation of the accident.
