Crime Alert: Local law enforcement swarmed an East Yuma neighborhood

Deputies and State Troopers were seen scouring a neighborhood off of South Frontage Road

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - News 11 is investigating reports of pursuit in East Yuma County. According to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to the Foothills area after reports of a car striking other cars.

When deputies attempted to stop the suspected vehicle the driver fled leading deputies on a short pursuit. The driver and passenger then exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Deputies called for assistance and surrounding agencies responded to the scene. According to YCSO one subject was captured and detained and a second subject remains at large.

The approximate time of the incident was around 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
