Gusty winds and cooler temperatures to start off the week
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - Starting off the week with cooler temperatures. Our expected afternoon high will be in the mid-80s and near normal.

Winds will start to strengthen this afternoon, especially for areas in the Imperial Valley. Winds gusts for Imperial are expected to be 30 to 40 MPH and Yuma will experience gusts of 25 to 30 MPH.

A Wind Advisory for Imperial Valley will go into effect from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. this evening with expected wind gusts of 45 MPH. It's possible to experience stronger gusts in some areas as well. Be aware of blowing dust and sand and if driving you could lose visibility so make to take extra precautions.
There is a High Pollution Advisory for today due to today's weather conditions, so make sure to check our air quality throughout the day.

Winds will continue to strengthen through the evening. Windy conditions will continue tomorrow with stronger winds for Yuma county. Just be aware it will be a gusty couple of days.

A cooling trend continues as our temperatures will drop into the mid and upper 70s over the next upcoming days. We will warm back up later this week and be back at above-normal temperatures again.
