Oil executives meet with House committee

MGN

(KYMA, KECY/CBS) - Oil executives talked to a committee on Wednesday to discuss the high gas prices Americans have been facing in recent months.

CBS News says House Democrats pointed fingers towards the oil executives, blaming them for the rise in oil and gas prices.

One representative asks why the price of oil is going down but pump prices are not.

AAA reports the national average of gas reaching $4.16, which is more than a dollar increase from 2021.

President Joe Biden plans to release oil from a U.S. reserve to help fight the high prices.
