Horse rescue caught on camera

Holtville Fire Department saves a horse's life - News 11's Wiley Jawhary reports

HOLTVILLE, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - A horse was able to get out of its corral only to fall into a four-foot-deep cistern.

The Holtville Fire Department received a call from dispatch back in January about a horse that was injured. When the department arrived on the scene, sure enough, there was a horse in distress.

Holtville's Fire Chief Alex Silva says this call was out of the ordinary.

“I’ve been doing this for 30 years and in my 30 years I have never come across anything like this (Dip white) when we first got there I had no idea what we were going to do, we talked about it, and at this time we didn’t know the condition of the horse,” he said.

The horse was lifted to safety and remarkably didn’t break any bones. The Holtville Fire Department says luckily, this was a happy ending.
