MGN

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - El Centro Regional Medical Center (ECRMC) says Inflation is hitting hard on retirees, making it difficult for them to afford healthcare.

ECRMC says it does what it can to avoid out-of-pocket medical expenses on senior citizens. The Census Bureau indicates almost 15% of California’s population is older than 65.

Ari Parker is a medicare advisor with Chapter says knowing the information is key.

"What many people are surprised to learn is that Medicare does not cover all of your medical costs, it only covers 80% at most of your medical costs," he said.

ECRMC says 40% of their patients have medicare and some without even knowing qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid.

ECRMC says if you don’t know you can always ask.
