Honoring our fallen rests on all Americans

Wreaths Across America continues to pay tribute to the nation's fallen warriors

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The U.S. Marine Corps' slogan 'The Few and the Proud' says it all. Only a small select few enlist in the armed forces.

Men and women put their lives in harm's way so that the American way of life continues. Many of them pay a heavy price for their patriotism, some pay the ultimate price.

As Americans it's our duty to honor each and every person that bears a uniform and runs towards tyranny to protect the stars and stripes.

Volunteers like Winnie Moir with Wreaths Across America have fought to make sure each veteran is remembered. Wreaths Across America pays tribute to our fallen warriors by placing a wreath on their graves.

But, in order to pay homage to our veterans' donations are needed. So, people like Winnie Moir have to ask for those donations and hold fundraisers to make sure each one of them is remembered.

On Saturday, March 26, Wreaths Across America will be hosting a fundraiser at the American Legion Post 56 (1490 W. 3rd Street). The group will be selling dinner plates for $10 a plate from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

You can choose from a beef burrito plate or a chicken flauta (roll taco) plate. They will also be selling desserts, raffle tickets, and 50/50 tickets.
