Four US Marines missing, says Norwegian government

(KYMA, KECY/CBS)-The Norwegian government released a statement on Friday saying a U.S. aircraft went down in the northern part of the country.

The plane was conducting a NATO military exercise when it experienced bad weather and crashed with four people on board.

It was discovered by the Norwegian military that the plane went down in rough terrain along with narrow valleys.  

The United States Marine Corps also released a statement saying, "an incident has occurred involving a Marine Corps MV-22B Osprey aircraft," and there will be a further investigation.

It is unknown if there are any survivors.
