(KYMA, KECY/CBS) - President Biden laid out a plan to aid Ukraine as Russia continues to attack the country and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenksyy made a plea for help.

"We are fighting for the values of Europe and the world, sacrificing our lives in the name of the future," said President Zelenskyy.

The Ukraine President made an appeal to emotion and asked for help building defenses as well as placing more sanctions on Russia.

President Biden made a comment about Russia President Vladimir Putin, calling him a "war criminal."

$800 million is planned to go towards Ukraine and anti-aircraft systems will be provided.

"The United States and our allies and partners are fully committed to surging weapons of assistance to the Ukrainians. And more will be coming," President Biden said.
