Russian strikes hit western Ukraine as offensive widens
LVIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russia is widening its military offensive in Ukraine, striking airports in the west and and an industrial city in the east for the first time.
The U.S. and its allies prepare to revoke Russia’s favored trading status in a new punishment for the invasion.
Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke of “positive developments” in negotiations.
But his military appeared to be trying to regroup and regain momentum in its invasion.
New satellite photos appeared to show a massive convoy outside the Ukrainian capital has fanned out into towns and forests near Kyiv with artillery pieces raised for firing in another potentially ominous movement.
