Oil prices jumped more than $130

(KYMA,KECY/CNN) - The price of oil has jumped to more than $130 a barrel and market shares are distinctly lower.

This comes as the conflict in Ukraine continues while the United States has confirmed talks with European allies to potentially sanction Russian crude oil.

In some areas, gas has topped $5 per gallon—the first time since 2008.

The price of regular gas went up almost 41 cents during the past week, according to the American Automobile Association.

Experts say the Russian invasion and seasonal price changes could mean that Americans will be paying more for gasoline than ever before.
