El Centro Sector Border Patrol rescues lost migrant

OCOTILLO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - United States Border Patrol agents at the El Centro Sector rescued an undocumented immigrant who was lost in the Jacumba Wilderness province around Ocotillo.

Agents said at about 1:55 a.m. Tuesday, El Centro Sector Dispatch alerted the El Centro Station about a lost migrant in the wilderness.

After agents were notified, they headed for the last known GPS coordinates delivered.

Agents said they found the migrant at around 3:58 a.m., about a mile north of the U.S.- Mexico border.

The undocumented immigrant was given a wellness check and no additional medical assistance was needed.

Border Patrol said the person did not have the required documents to legally be in the U.S. They were brought into custody at the El Centro Sector Processing Center for further medical evaluation and to be processed accordingly.
