2 dead, 2 children injured in possible car race

PHOENIX (KYMA, KECY/ CNN) — A possible car race left two adults dead and two children critically injured after a crash on Interstate 10 early Sunday.

State troopers were notified of a crash with serious injuries.

Upon arrival, troopers found two adults and two children inside of the vehicle.

Both adults were dead on scene.

The children inside of the car were a two-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl.

They were both taken to a hospital in critical condition.

According to a preliminary investigation, lead investigators believe the vehicle was involved in a race with another car prior to the crash.

The other car did not come in contact with the crashed car, but troopers believe it played a role.

Troopers are still investigating.
