Agents arrest man attempting to smuggle migrants in Calexico

Man discovered to have two outstanding warrants

CALEXICO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - On Sunday, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a man who attempted to smuggle a group of migrants and who was in possession of meth.

At about 3:21 p.m., agents investigated a suspcious Dodge Ram near Bond’s Corner Drain and Highway 98 when they discovered 7 people in the vehicle including the driver.

Six people in the Dodge Ram were migrants without proper documentation to be in the United States but the driver was a U.S. citizen.

Agents continued investigating the vehicle when they found a white substance, which tested positive for meth, and a glass pipe

Everyone in the Dodge Ram was arrested and transported for further processing.

The driver was found to have two warrants in Imperial, California for possessing a stolen vehicle and for involvement with displaying a minor.
