Crash on Interstate 8 leads to one death

Three others suffering major injuries from crash

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - On January 3, a crash occurred on Interstate 8, resulting in one fatality and three other major injuries.

At about 12:40 p.m., a 2007 Chevrolet drifted over the median of I-8, west of Anderholt Road, when the lone driver's car crashed head-on with a 2019 Lexus, which was carrying a driver and two other passengers.

The driver of the Lexus suffered fatal blunt force trauma and the other passengers were transported to Desert Regional Medical Center.

Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be involved with the crash.
