Michigan high school shooting suspect charged as adult after four died

Four dead, several wounded in high school shooting

OXFORD, Mich. (KYMA, KECY/CNN) - On November 30, shots were fired in Michigan's Oxford High School, leaving four students dead, seven wounded and a 15-year-old suspect in custody.

Oakland County Prosecutor Karen D. McDonald says the suspect is being charged as an adult with one count of terrorism causing death; four counts of first-degree murder; seven counts of assault with intent to murder; and 12 counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Officials were dispatched at about 12:52 p.m. while those in the school barricaded themselves and hid inside classrooms.

The suspect quickly put his hands up and was placed in custody within three minutes of when officers arrived.

Deputies noted that the semiautomatic pistol used by the suspect was purchased by the suspect's father four days earlier, and also say at least 30 shots were fired.

Law enforcement did not shoot and the suspect was not injured.

Among those were died were a 14-years-old and two who were wounded are in critical condition.

The suspect is being held at a juvenile detention facility and is on suicide watch, investigators have been looking for a motive.

Cameras placed around the school have helped in the investigation and some of the suspect's belongings, such as their phone, have been seized.
