No Arizona highway closures scheduled over Thanksgiving weekend

Drivers should 'expect the unexepcted,' says ADOT

PHOENIX, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is currently not expecting construction or maintenance to occur on Arizona highways over the Thanksgiving weekend, however, drivers should stay cautious in case of emergencies.

ADOT sent a press release saying that they and their contractors do not have plans for closures from Wednesday, November 24, to Monday, Nov. 29.

However, they advise for any unexpected closures that can occur from crashes and other incidents.

Drivers should have an emergency kit with essential items and food, as well as cell phone charger and staying up to date with weather conditions.

Vehicle maintenance should be put into consideration before traveling.
