President Biden share his reaction to the jury that acquitted Rittenhouse

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KYMA, KECY/CNN) - On November 19, President Joe Biden made a statement regarding the not-guilty verdict in Kyle Rittenhouse's trial.

"I stand by what the jury has concluded," President Biden said. "The jury system works, and we have to abide by it."

This statement follows the acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse, who killed two people during an incident in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

He was acquitted of five charges, one including first-degree intentional homicide.

The verdict cannot be appealed.

"I just heard a moment ago," Biden continued, when asked about Rittenhouse. "I didn't watch the trial."

President Biden is aware that Americans will have mixed feelings, but stands by the jury's decision.

"I believe that what unites us is far greater than what divides us. I know that we're not going to heal our country's wounds overnight, but I remain steadfast in my commitment to do everything in my power to ensure that every American is treated equally, with fairness and dignity, under the law," Biden's statement reads.
