Man fatally struck by car while crossing the street near Yuma Palms

Yuma police say the pedestrian died at the scene

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A 72-year-old man lost his life in a car crash near the Yuma Palms Plaza.

The Yuma Police Department (YPD) responded to the scene on 16th Street and Jesse Way.

The man was crossing the street when he was struck by a 2018 Honda Civic.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of that vehicle was a 20-year-old female.

YPD says alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident.

The driver of the car was uninjured.
