San Luis police search for attempted murder suspect

Police say victim was found with a gunshot wound to the chest

SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The San Luis Police Department (SLPD) asks for the public's help finding the suspect in an attempted murder.

Officers say they got called to the end of Figueroa Drive just after 10:30 Sunday night. They say they arrived to find 28-year-old Edgar Talamantes of San Luis with a gunshot wound to the chest. Police say they performed CPR until paramedics arrived to take him to Yuma Regional Medical Center.

SLPD is seeking Antonio Valdez Jacobo in connection with an attempted murder

SLPD says it later learned Talamantes had been shot during an argument inside a car. Officers now say they believe 33-year-old Antonio Valdez Jacobo pulled the trigger. Jacobo is now wanted for attempted murder, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police urge anyone with information on Jacobo's whereabouts to call SLPD at (928) 341-2420.
