Man with knives shot after moving toward officers
Authorities respond to make who was holding bloodied knives
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a man holding two bloody knives was shot after he moved toward police in Los Angeles.
He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Los Angeles Police Officer Drake Madison says authorities responded to a 911 call at around 5 p.m. Sunday about a man with a knife in the Van Nuys area.
Madison says the man was in his 40s and holding two bloody knives.
He says officers tried to get the man to drop the knives using non-lethal means but he moved toward them and was shot.
An autopsy will determine the cause of death.
The man's name was not immediately released.
