Desert Mesa Elementary cancels school due to lack of A/C
Campus closed until further notice
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Desert Mesa Elementary School announces Monday school is cancelled until further notice.
Yuma Elementary District officials say a company installing the air conditioning (A/C) system didn't let the school know until early Monday morning that the AC would not be functioning.
"This is a safety concern for our students," shares Desert Mesa over Facebook. "We apologize for the late notice, as we were also notified this morning."
School staff tells parents that updates will be posted on Dojo, a communication app for teachers, parents and student, as well as Facebook.
