AWC offers cash incentives for registered students

Those enrolled full time at AWC this Fall will receive $1,500 cash

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - A new incentive program at Arizona Western College is putting cash in the hands of students registering for the Fall semester.

The Ca$h in Your Pocket Program gives anywhere from $400 to $1,500 in efforts to help students financially.

Students who enroll full-time and complete their free application for Federal Student Aid will receive the full $1,500 regardless of their Expected Family Contribution Form (EFC).

Students enrolled part time will receive dollar amounts based on their EFC.

"This initiative is just one of the things that we are implementing to remove a financial barrier for our students," said Mandy Heil, Assistant Dean of Communications. "Other things such as our free laptop check-out and our open educational resources, our low-cost textbooks, we are just trying to find new ways to make education accessible."

The funds will be distributed to students by mid-October though direct deposit or through the mail.

The college recommends students check their Self-Service account to ensure the college has the correct bank and mailing information.

More information on the college's new program can be found here.
