Plan to bring offshore wind power to California coast

(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - The Biden Administration said Tuesday it is moving to advance offshore wind power on the coast of California for the first time.

The Administration says the regions selected will eventually have the potential to generate enough green energy for up to 1.6 million homes over the next decade.

President Biden's target is to have 30 gigawatts of offshore wind energy by 2030. This is another step towards that goal which would generate enough energy to power 10 million homes.

The Administration also expects these developments would support upwards of 75,000 jobs.
