Agents say man had multiple felony convictions and previous deportations

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents say they apprehended an active MS-13 gang member early Monday morning just east of San Luis.

Harry Williams Payes-Mejia

Agents say 46-year-old Harry Williams Payes-Mejia illegally crossed the border with two other men. They say they brought the men back to the station for processing, and that's when they found out about Payes-Mejia's criminal background.

Agents say he is an active member of the notorious MS-13 gang with several felony convictions. They say he's served prison time, and currently has an outstanding warrant for probation violation. Payes-Mejia will now be prosecuted for re-entry, and turned over to the U.S. Marshals Service for the warrant.
