South County celebrates Cinco de Mayo

The City of Somerton asks residents to stand together and fight against coronavirus

SOMERTON, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The battle over Puebla is more than just part of Mexico's history. It's an example of perserverance, determination.

On Cinco de Mayo we pay tribute to a story of an underdog who defied an empire. Now, the City of Somerton is calling on its residents to come together and fight against the coronavirus.

On May 5 2021, the city asks that residents register online to receive the COVID-19 vaccination. So, on May 7, 2021, those registered can get vaccinated.

On Friday May 7, 2021 the city will be holding a celebration in front of city hall, on State Avenue and Main Street.

The celebration will feature entertainment and food which will be provided by area businesses.
