Casinos in Mexicali reopen
MEXICALI, B.C. (KYMA, KECY)-Casinos in Mexicali reopen its doors to the community despite the rise in COVID-19 cases.
Twelve casinos have opened and will operate for 24 hours days to avoid crowds, but they will be prohibited from selling beer.
Due to social distancing, machines will be separated for the customers, that is, one machine on and another not, as well as on the gaming tables, only three players per table will be allowed.
Sanitary filters are installed at the entrances, and constant cleaning is guaranteed in the play areas. Efforts will be made to keep the spaces smoke-free.
Casinos are the fourth non-essential commercial line that the Mexicali government gives the green light to be reopened with security and hygiene measures. First, it was the flea markets, then restaurants, and this week's gyms and casinos.
However, this decision is not approved by all council members, as they fear that when these places are opened, outbreaks and more cases arise, especially in casinos where the assistance is mostly for older adults who are the high-risk group for infections by COVID-19.
