Man in serious condition after being hit by vehicle while crossing the street

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)-The Yuma Police Department says a man is in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle Sunday night.

Police were called to the accident at the 2700 block of S. 4th Avenue.

Police say a 72-year-old man was crossing 4th Avenue when he was struck by a 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera driven by a 24-year-old woman.

The man was taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center and further flown to a Phoenix hospital.

Police say the man remains in serious condition.

Neither speed nor alcohol are believed to be a factor.
