YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Regional Center for Border Health (RCBH) makes up 70% of Yuma County's coronavirus testing and continues to reach to members of their community.

RCBH says they conduct on average about 600 COVID-19 tests a day. This is 3,000 tests in a week which are conducted at two of their locations that offer testing on a day-to-day basis.

On Saturday, RCBH plans to have a testing blitz where they anticipate to have 1,000 tests done for members of the community. The testing blitz is in collaboration with The Consulate of Mexico and the City of Yuma at the Yuma Civic Center from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Amanda Aguirre, CEO of RCBH, says the testing blitz will have 10 tents with teams that will be performing the tests, to get people through as quick as possible.

RCBH says they had to create new teams to keep up with the demand of testing needed to be done across the county. This includes mobile testing sites the clinic offers for employers who have over 50 employees and request their services.

In the past RCBH has provided mobile testing for first responders as their first priority; Arizona State Prison in Yuma's staff, nursing homes, and several other employers throughout Yuma County.

Test results for those who are tested are being provided within 3-5 days and patients can look up their test results through RCBH's online portal.

Aguirre says RCBH's efforts of providing COVID-19 testing is to make it easily accessible to everyone and encourages everyone to get tested.
