Border Patrol agents find over 25 pounds of meth in Yuma
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)-Border Patrol agents seize over 25 pounds of methamphetamine at the immigration checkpoint on Interstate 8.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) say two people driving a Nissan sedan were sent to secondary inspection last Friday after a canine alerted to their vehicle.
During the search of the vehicle, agents found 23 aluminum-wrapped packages of meth inside a secret compartment in the the center console.Â
CBP says the drugs have an estimated street value of $50,000.
The 43-year-old man driving the vehicle and his passenger, a 41-year-old woman, were arrested on controlled substance violations.
The drugs and vehicle were seized.
