New COVID-19 recovery unit in Mexicali
MEXICALI, B.C. (KYMA, KECY)-A new field hospital has been built in Mexicali to serve patients who are recovering from the coronavirus.
The hospital was built in a month. It has 50 beds with special equipment and infrastructure adapted to respond to the needs of the contingency.
It also has equipment for medical oxygen.
The hospital is a donation made by the "Hermosillo and Associates" group in its construction and local businessmen who contributed to the equipment through the foundation of the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC).
The staff and operations will be in charge of the hospital during the pandemic, however, the property will remain as part of the academic infrastructure of the medical school whenever the health contingency ends.
This is the third hospital unit that is built during the pandemic to serve patients in recovery from the coronavirus in Mexicali.
The first field hospital is located at the Baja California Polytechnic University, the second at the military base, but this third hospital is unlike the others, it's a hospital that was built to stay.
