CBP: Kettlebell shaped packages of meth found in Calexico

CALEXICO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY)-Border Patrol agents found five abandoned kettlebell packages filled with methamphetamine near the fence of South First Street in Calexico.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection say the incident occurred on Wednesday after a remote video suerveillance operator notified agents of packages being thrown over the border from Mexico into the U.S.

Agents located the packages and transported kettlebell packages to the Calexico Border Patrol Station for further processing.

At the station, the kettlebell packages tested positive for meth, with a combined weight of 10.3 pounds and an estimated street value of $19,570.

The drugs were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
