CBP arrest fugitive couple in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY)-Â U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Otay Mesa port of entry arrest a couple wanted by Oceanside police for attempted homicide.
CBP says on May 27, a 35-year-old woman, U.S. citizen, driving a 2000 Honda Civic attempted to cross the border with two passengers, a 37-year-old and a 20-year-old woman.
Officers were alerted that one of the travelers was wanted by police and was escorted for further processing.
Further investigation revealed that the driver, Monica Cecilia Jimenez was wanted for attempted murder and the passenger, Omar Alapizco was wanted for homicide with bail set at $750,000, by police for the same crime.
Officials with the U.S. Marshals Service and the Oceanside Police Department responded to the port of entry and took custody of Jimenez and Alapizco.Â
