Yuma County coronavirus cases rise to 982
County reports one additional death
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The number of coronavirus cases in Yuma County increased by 46 Friday, bringing the countywide total closer to the 1000 mark.
The Yuma County Health District (YCHD) confirms there are now 982 cases in the county, also reporting one additional death.
The countywide death toll now stands at 15. Health officials are not releasing further information on the latest victim, nor are they releasing information on the latest cases.
Patients between the ages of 20 and 44 continue to make up the majority of Yuma County's cases. That age group grew by an additional 17 people on Friday, accounting for 43 percent of Yuma's cases.
Currently over 9,000 residents have been screened.

Arizona currently has 18,465 cases of coronavirus. The illness is blamed for 885 deaths across the state, including 14 in Yuma County.
