Electric company in Mexicali adjusts high-usage pricing to customers affected by the pandemic
MEXICALI, B.C. (KYMA, KECY)-After Mexicali residents protested the offices of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) last week, the company makes adjustments during the pandemic.
On Wednesday, councilman Sergio Tamai says that through the efforts made with the CFE, a readjustment was achieved in over 250 receipts in favor of the residents.
Among those residents, there is a lady who received a bill of over $5,000,000 in a single month of consumption.

The councilman and social activists say there are thousands of electric bills that came from high consumption this month, because the CFE charged the most expensive kilowatts when applying the winter rate in April.
In the midst of the quarantine, people spend more energy in order to stay home.
Activists say they will continue to intervene with the CFE to get the summer rate to start from March 1 to October 31 so charges are not generated.
