COVID-19 ECRMC Updates

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY)-The El Centro Regional Medical Center provides a new COVID-19 update on Tuesday at 1 p.m.

The Chief Executive Officer Dr. Adolphe Edward says they are currently 88 patients in the hospital, 47 COVID patients, 13 in Intensive Care Unit, and says they have plenty of ventilators available.

The hospital has new tents with built in coolers available to keep treating patients.

Dr. Adolphe Edward says the hospital continues to treat and welcome non-COVID-19 patients. The hospital is expected to receive for medical staff to help out with patients. He warns the community of scammers selling fake N95 respirator masks at a higher price. He continues to reiterate the community, "Do not buy them."

A viewers asks, "If and once you reach capacity for any patient, what's next? where will they be sent to?"

Dr. Edward says thankfully they have a good field medical system and it's located at Imperial Valley College. He says patients will be transferred to have space available for new patients, COVID, and non-covid patients.

Dr. Edward says the numbers remain the same, he does not believe they will see a spike in numbers, but anything can change.
