Yuma state parks reopen its doors

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)-The Colorado River State Historic Park and Yuma Territorial Prison reopen its doors to the public Monday, June 1.

The Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area says they are taking the necessary precautions recommended by public health officials to keep the employees and visitors safe. 

Following is a list of but a few safety measures they are taking:

• Hand Sanitizing Stations will be set up throughout the parks.  We ask that you please sanitize your hands after touching surfaces or doors for your safety and the safety of others.  And of course wash your hands frequently.
• Note of thanks to Prison Hill Brewing Co. for supplying hand sanitizer to us, as well as to others, including first responders around Yuma.
• We encourage guests to wear masks when on property for their own safety and the safety of others.
• Parks will continue to be cleaned and disinfected surfaces throughout the day.
• Parks will encourage social distancing of at least 6ft and we will regulate the number of people in the gift shops and museums at one time for the safety of all.
• All YCHA staff will wear masks for their safety and the safety of visitors.
• The Visitor Information Center located at the entrance of the Colorado River State Historic Park will only allow 10 people in the building at a time, and encourage social distancing, hand washing, the wearing of masks, etc.
