Arizona Community Foundation helping local non-profits

Foundation has already distributed more than $200,000 in Yuma County

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Arizona Community Foundation of Yuma (ACF) went into quick response mode at the beginning of the pandemic. It began a COVID-19 Fund to raise money for local non-profits tdirectly affected by the drop in donations.

Since its inception, the fund has grown to just under $300,000. Now the ACF is thrilled to announce it's disbursed more than $200,000 to local non-profits, including the Assistance League of Yuma, The Yuma Community Food Bank, and Healing Journey.

ACF Regional Director Veronica Shorr says her organization doesn't do it alone.

"Locally, we had a private fund holder here at ACF donate $35,000 to the fund and ACF actually matched dollar for dollar so um that's incredible double the impact with the donations." Shorr told us.

The ACF continues to both accept, and distribute donations. If you want more information on either giving, or receiving, go the ACF's website.
