San Luis Río Colorado now with 28 deaths, Hermosillo has 7

234 cases now confirmed in San Luis Río Colorado

HERMOSILLO, Sonora (KYMA, KECY) - There are now 905 confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Sonora, according to the Secretary of Health.

In his nightly press conference Saturday, Enrique Clausen Iberri, the Sonora Secretary of Health, confirmed 49 new cases in the state and two deaths.

Of these, four cases and one death pertain to San Luis Río Colorado (SLRC).

Now SLRC has 28 deaths total, far more than any other city in the state. For comparison, Hermosillo, Sonora's capital, only has 7 deaths reported.

Iberri says the patient from SLCR was a 47-year-old woman with underlying health conditions such as hyperthyroidism and obesity. On Saturday lab results by the State Laboratory of Public Health was confirmed was positive for COVID-19.

Out of all 905 cases, 82 are hospitalized, with 59 in serious condition, according to Iberri.
