Goodwill to host virtual job fair
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - It's no question the coronavirus pandemic has caused a spike in unemployment and financial instability.
On May 27, the Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona will host a Virtual Job Fair from 3-4 p.m. in Yuma.
Goodwill says job seekers will have an opportunity to hear from local employers and ask questions through a chat function online.Â
Local organizations such as Yuma Union High School District, AZ@WORK and Hunter Employment will participate and have a variety of positions available.Â
"This is our first virtual hiring event in Yuma and all of the participating employers have positions available," said Courtney Nelson, vice president, marketing and communications of Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona.
"At the conclusion of the event, job seekers will be instructed to email their resumes to our team, so we can connect them with each employer they wish to speak with."Â
Although this is a virtual event, job seekers should dress professionally, find a quiet location and test their equipment beforehand.
