Deputies still searching for suspect

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) is searching for the suspect who shot a 19-year-old man late Tuesday night.

YCSO says deputies responded to reports of shots fired just after 11:30 p.m. in the vicinity of 8th Street and Avenue C in Yuma.

Sheriff's investigators says a suspect driving a red sedan pulled up to another vehicle at the intersection and fired multiple times. At least one bullet hit a passenger in the targetted car. The shooter then sped away.

Paramedics took the injured man to Yuma Regional Medical Center. He remains hospitalized in stable condition.

The suspect in this shooting remains at large. Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to call the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office at 928-783-4427 or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous. You can also visit YCSO's website to submit an anonymous tip.
