Yuma’s local salon reopens for business amid pandemic
YUMA, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY) - All salons and barbershops are welcoming back to its customers in Yuma County after being shut down for a month due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Karina Schofield, the owner Yuma's Eyebrow Threading and Microblading by Karina said they are ready to be back for their clients, but with strict CDC guidelines.
“Making sure we have masks, making sure we had all state regulations in order with our state board cosmetology," said Schofield.
Karina said after hearing Arizona Governor Doug Ducey's announcement that salons like hers could reopen she felt relieved. But also adds that she feels lucky it was only for a short period of time.
“You know it was only a month, so for me, it was a nice one-month break, I don’t know if I could have gone any longer," said Schofield.
However, Karina is aware of the concerns from the community that some may say it's too soon. “Those who feel a little bit more hesitant coming out here I totally respect that and I will wait for them until its time head out here," said Schofield.
