Yuma County coronavirus cases rise by 19

County now at 176 confirmed cases total, 3 deaths

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma County Public Health District confirmed 19 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) Thursday, bringing the countywide total to 176.

The county also sees a rise of one new death, though it is not releasing any further details on this patient.

This comes one day after the county reported its second death from the illness, a pediatric patient with serious underlying health conditions.

New statistics indicate 268 new tests, a significant spike due to Yuma County's continued testing blitz.

The county also sees a decrease in hospitalizations — by five patients in one day.

The number of cases are now tied, with both male and female categories each making up 50 percent of all cases.
